Anthony DeBenedetto

 I am an Assistant Principal in charge of the English Department and Organization. In the past I've taught Math, ELA, SS, and Law through literature. I went to college at Brooklyn College where I majored in Political Science- International Relations & American Politics. I also received my Master's Degree from Brooklyn College in Political Science. I used to be the coach of the school's tennis club and  cosponsor of the Leadership Club.  In my spare time I like to walk, read, and play with my dog. 

Fun Facts About Me: I hate wearing watches. I’ve been the cause of at least 6 minor car accidents.I was morbidly obese at 278 pounds until I was 22 years old.  I ran eight ½ marathons and completed 1 virtual full marathon. 

Elizabeth Urena

I am an Assistant Principal in charge of Testing, Discipline…I am a Jack of all trades! In the past I've taught Math, Science, English as a New Language and been a  Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialist. I went to Brooklyn College where I majored in Psychology. I have three Master's Degrees. One in Counseling from the Alfred University School of Counseling and the other two in Administration and General and Special Education from Brooklyn College. I used to be the coach of the school's tennis club.

Paul Parrella

I am the 8th Grade Assistant Principal, director of the Social Studies Department and the Special Education Department. I majored in Communications at Hofstra University. I received my Master’s Degree in Education from Touro College. In my spare time I like to hang out with my two sons and coach their Little League teams. 

Fun Facts About Me: I haven't slept past 8:00 AM in 7 years. I can't wait to sleep  past 8:00 AM again.

Danielle Noto

Richard Lebowitz 

6th Grade, Science, STEM/Coding, World Language, Tech

I went to college at SUNY Cobleskill where I majored in Plant Science. I received my 2 Master's Degrees from Brooklyn College in School Administration and Earth Science Education. In the past I taught Earth Science, Science Research, Pre-Med, Horticulture, and Robotics. In my spare time I like to fish, garden, travel, snowboard, and relax.

Fun Facts About Me: I once was attacked by fire ants and a hive of bees during the same summer when I was four years old. I like trying chocolate from different countries. I did landscape architecture prior to changing my career and becoming a teacher. 

Joanna Gillen 

7th Grade, Math, Library, G&T: VE,IIM, Dual language 

I started at McKinley as a math teacher in 2008. Since then I have taught all grades and levels of math, and started our Virtual Enterprise program.  I went to college at Seton Hall University where I majored in Mathematics and Special Education.I received my Master's Degrees in Math Education and Educational Leadership from Brooklyn College. In my spare time I enjoy getting lost on the internet learning random new things. 

Fun Facts About Me  I love adventure and travel. Some of my favorites so far: swimming with great white sharks in South Africa, Mario carting around Japan, riding a camel and sleeping in the Sahara Desert, sky diving, and becoming a certified scuba diver. One day I would like to be in the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. 

Mr. Abecassis.  I am a Special Education teacher. In the past I've also taught 7th grade Ela/ 6,7,8 social studies/ 6/7/8 science . I majored in Business Finance and Administration at Brooklyn College. I received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Brooklyn College and another from Touro  in the field of School and District Leader. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family or watch/play sports. Outside of school I coach basketball. 

Fun Facts About Me: I have coached basketball since the age of 13. I played 1 year college basketball. I used to be on a bowling team.

Ms. Abraham.  I am a Science teacher. I went to college at Long Island University where I majored in Biology. I received my Master's Degree from Touro College. I am one of the faculty sponsors of the Green Squad. In my spare time I like to bake. 

Fun Facts About Me: I love drawing. I have lived in 3 continents. I am terrified of heights yet I went on a hot air balloon ride. 

Ms. Adamadis. I’m a Science teacher at McKinley for 1 year now but have been teaching in NYC public schools for 12 years. I love riding my bike, hanging out with my family, my cat and dog, and my friends. I love hiking and going to the beach in Greece where I also visit a lot of my family. I’m a first generation American. My parents were born and raised in Greece. I love hanging in New York City parks. I’m bilingual and can read and write Greek as well. I’m grateful to be part of the McKinley family!

Fun Facts About Me: I'm left handed. One of my favorite vacations was going to Iceland. I have a cat and a dog.

Mr.  Albala. I am a Special Education Teacher. In the past I have also taught Science and Social Studies. At Brooklyn College I majored in Creative Writing. I received my Master's Degree in Education from Touro College and my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Brooklyn College. In my spare time I like to work out. I do not currently run any after school activities. 

Fun Facts About Me: I was the lead singer of a band in college. I can function on 3 hours of sleep or less, for multiple days at a time. I make a really good latte. 

Teresa Andersen. I am math teacher. In the past I’ve also taught Social studies. I went to college at St. John's University where I majored in Childhood Education. I  also received my Master’s Degree from St. John’s in  Special Education Grades k-12.  In my spare time, I like to bake, watch TV, and go on walks with my dogs.  I sponsor the  History Through Film morning program

Mrs. Angelo-Reynolds. I am 6th Grade English teacher. In the past I've also taught Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Math. I majored in psychology at Brooklyn College and received my Master's Degree in Reading & Education from Fordham I teach after school ELA. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching T.V., and socializing with my family and friends

Mrs. Antonacci. I am an ENL teacher. I went to college at St. John's University where I majored in Education and  Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Fun Facts About Me: My first language was Greek. When I was in 5th grade, I received the Brooklyn Borough President Award.I am a Mom to 3 kids and an Italian Greyhound.

Ms. Hande Ates.  I am a School Aide. In the past I have also worked as an assistant in a doctor’ s office and at Toys R Us. In my spare time I like to cook, bake, go for walks and clean.  

Fun Facts About Me: I am very cheerful. I love to make others happy by making them laugh. I love animals especially dogs, ESPECIALLY Pitbulls.  I make up my own funny words and I LOVE to dance.

Ms.  Avila-Sanchez. I am a Math teacher. I majored in Mathematics for  Adolescent Education. In my spare time, I like to travel. One of my life's goal is to visit every country. The next countries I am looking at visiting are Egypt and Greece. I also,  like going to concerts and watching live soccer games.

Ms. Barolli. I am an ESL teacher. I went to CUNY Brooklyn College where I majored in Education. I received my master’s degrees from the College of Staten Island and Brooklyn College  in the fields of TESOL and Educational Administration. In my spare time I like to go hiking, go to the beach, and spend time with my family.

Ms. Basile. I am a Social Studies Teacher but I also worked for DOE Central as a Literacy specialist and coach. I went to college at the College of Staten Island where I majored in History with a focus in Education and minor in Italian. I also have a Master of Science in Education. Outside of school I coach at a Muay Thai school in Staten Island. I coach ages 5-12 and adults. I believe learning  martial arts not only builds confidence in people of all ages, but aids in developing self discipline and supports a healthy active lifestyle. 

Fun Facts About Me: I spent my 20s an amateur Muay Thai fighter. Now I am a certified judge and referee for children and adult Muay Thai events. I also enjoying coaching my students who have now had the opportunity to not only compete locally, but around the U.S as well. I have a passion for animal rescue. I have fostered many dogs and now have adopted two. In college I was able to study abroad and lived in Italy.

Ms. Basily. I am a paraprofessional. I went to college at Brooklyn College where I studied accounting. In my spare time I enjoy playing Soduku and chess. 

Ms. Becker. I am a Speech teacher. I received an M.A. degree in speech-language pathology at Brooklyn College, an M.F.A in writing at Sarah Lawrence College, and a B.A at Hunter College. In my spare time I like to write, do arts and crafts, grow plants, garden, take care of my reef tank, and play with my cats.  

Fun Facts About Me: I love the smell of Catmint. I have a 20-gallon nano reef. I have a LOT of plants.

Ms. Benitez. I am an English and Special Education teacher. Some of the other subjects I've taught are Social Studies, Science and Math. I went to college at Columbia University where I majored in Psychology. I received my Master’s in Education from Brooklyn College. In my free time I like to hang out with my kids and read.

Fun Facts About Me: I can solve a Rubix Cube. I played basketball in college. I know how to surf. 

Ms. Biondo. Special Education Teacher Math (ICT). Kingsborough Community College, Catawba College,  and Touro College where I majored in Special Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Touro College. In my spare time, I like to relax/sleep, spend time with family and friends, watch TV, go to the beach, dance, go to Broadway shows, and enjoy life. I am one of the staff sponsors of the Starfish International Student Council Club. 

Fun Facts About Me: I have a bubbly and fun personality. I love to laugh and make people happy, smile and laugh. I always wanted to be a teacher. It took me a long time to accomplish my goals and dreams, but I wouldn't be where I am in life if I did anything different. I went to college in North Carolina and I lived in Colorado for a few years. NY is and always will be home to me. I love the Pillsbury Doughboy, Gnomes, and my favorite character of all time is Garfield. 

Ms. Bissonette. I am a paraprofessional. In the past I have also been a substitute teacher.When I started college in 2000, I studied education in a Community College then switched to business. I worked summer jobs in the restaurant industry and fell in love with it.  I decided to attend Johnson & Wales University so that I could study Management and Culinary with a focus on Entrepreneurship. When I graduated I started looking for jobs in various cities because I knew I wanted to leave Rhode Island and explore different States. I met someone and decided to move to NYC where I was also able to obtain a job working as the  Food & Beverage Manager for a hotel in midtown.

In 2010 I decided to leave the restaurant business due to the time demands and started working at a Law Office then went back to college and obtained my Paralegal degree which led to me working for a large law firm on Wall Street. in 2019 when I started working at McKinley as a Substitute Teacher. Since I really didn’t want to go back to college I became a full-time Paraprofessional in 2021 and in 2023 I became an LTA which gives me more inclusion in the classroom.   At McKinley I am also the Assistant Girls’ Volleyball Coach and the School’s Treasurer.

Fun Facts About Me: In my spare time I love to follow woman’s sports and traveling the world. I am a season ticket holder for the NY Liberty and love to attend all home games and travel to any away games that I can. I also like to travel to different States and Countries to learn and immerse myself into the cultures of that area.

Ms. Boefer. I am a Science Teacher. I went to SUNY Geneseo and Brooklyn College where I majored in Business Administration. I received my Master''s Degree from the College of Staten Island in Science Education. I am one of the sponsors of the Science Olympiad Team. 

Fun Facts About Me: I like to go to Rock concerts. I like to ski and hike and most other outdoor adventure activities.  My mother, all of my siblings and I, and my kids all went to McKinley.

Ms. Braunstein. I am an English teacher. I went to college at Brooklyn College where I majored in English Language and Literature/Education. I also got my Master’s Degree from Brooklyn College.

Ms. Byrnes. I am an English Language Arts teacher. I attended Lehman College where I majored in English. I received my Master's Degree from Touro College in Teaching English as a Second Language. In my spare time I like to read, spend time with my dogs and family, go on vacation, relax at home. 

Fun Facts About Me: My birthday is the day after Christmas, which is why I was named Christine. I was once a student at McKinley. I have been to Disney World over thirty times.

Ms. Capparelli. I am a Physical Education teacher. In the past I've been a 1:1 para and a substitute teacher of all  grades. I went to Manhattanville College where I majored in Psychology and Sport Studies. I received my masters degree from Manhattanville  College in Physical Education. In my spare time, I like to workout, take my boxer dog on walks in the park and of course shop. During the winter months I enjoy skiing with my friends and family. During the warmer months I like to go on runs outside and attended baseball games. Go Mets! My goal is to run the NYC marathon one day. I also love to travel. I am a High School lacrosse coach at New Dorp in Staten Island. I attended and played there.

Fun facts about me: My favorite color is pink. I have a 2-year-old boxer whose name is Marciano.  I played lacrosse in college.

Ms. Cartolano-Zogby. I am an English teacher. I went to college at New York University where I majored in Sociology with a minor in English. I received my Master's Degree in English and American Literature from Brooklyn College. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family.

Ms. Casil. I am an English as a New Language teacher. In the past I've also been a Physical Education teacher. I went to college at SUNY Cortland where I majored in Physical Education. I received my Master's Degree from Touro University in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. In my free time I like to spend time with my 3 beautiful sons and my husband.  I love to craft with my cricut and plan vacations for our family.  I love spending time in Lavallette, NJ and being outdoors as much as humanly possible!

Fun Facts About Me: I knew my co-teacher, Ms.Fonseca for 14 years prior to working together. I traded in a 10 minute commute for a 1.5 hour commute because I love teaching at McKinley. You may not know that I have long hair, since you'll usually see me rocking my signature "bun" in the halls.

Mr. Cataldi. I am a Social Studies teacher. At Brooklyn College I majored in History and Secondary Education grades 7-12. I also received my Master's Degree in Special Education from Brooklyn College. In my spare time I like to watch tv and read. I am one of the editors for the school yearbook and one of the producers of Good Morning McKinley. 

Fun Facts About Me: I like to watch horror movies and comedies. I like to read books about wars/different time periods/history nerdy books

Ms. Caufield. I am a Social Studies teacher. In the past I've taught Law as an elective, Global History and Geography 9&10, AP World History. I went to college at The University of Scranton where I majored in Political Science. I received my Master's  from CUNY Brooklyn College.  I am the faculty sponsor for Participatory Budgeting, School Leadership Team, and the Staff Development Committee. 

Fun Facts About Me: I am your neighbor - I live within walking distance of McKinley. I sing in my father's family rock band. I was a part of the Brooklyn Boroughwide Chorus in junior high school and we performed at Carnegie Hall. 

Ms. Chen. I am a Math teacher. I went to St. Joseph's College where I majored in Mathematics and Secondary Education. I received my Master's Degree in Mathematics. In my spare time I enjoy traveling around, shopping and baking desserts.

Fun Facts About Me: I'm a bubble tea girl. I seem very introverted, but I love lions. Only makes sense that I would join The Pride of Bay Ridge. I always think that I am very lucky. I have met many great people and made many friends in my teaching path in the past six years. Very excited to continue my journey at McKinley.

Ms. Jean Chen. I am Math teacher. I majored in Mathematics at Queens College where I also received my Master's Degree in Education. I like to run in my spare time.  I am one of the teachers for the after school Math enrichment program.

Ms. Lisa Chen. I am a Paraprofessional. Some of the subjects I have taught are Chinese. I went to Touro College where I majored in Science and Art. i like to watch movies during my rest time. I teach After School Chinese. 

Fun Facts About Me: I like traveling and making friends. At the same time, I also like to challenging things and learn new things. The interesting thing is that when I came to the United States, I had never celebrated Halloween before. celebrating Halloween. In my country, ghosts are considered unlucky. It took me a while, but now I have gradually gotten used to it. Last year, I dressed up to celebrate with colleagues and took photos for everyone, I also made the photos into videos to share with everyone.

Ms. Cohen. I am the Family Worker. I attended Brooklyn College where I majored in Psychology. I am currently getting my master's degree in the field of School Psychology at Brooklyn College! In my spare time, I like to read.

Mr. Coloracci.  I am a Social Studies teacher. Some of the subjects I've taught in the past are piano and music. I went to college at California State University, Northridge and Adelphi University where I majored in Radio, TV and Film/History. I have my Master's Degree in Education. I am one of the directors of the after school Piano Club.  In my free time I enjoy playing music with my band.

Kathie Connor. I am the school’s Payroll Secretary.  In my spare time I like to binge watch Netflix shows and I love to cook.

Ms. Cooper. I am a Drama teacher.  In the past I’ve taught Spanish and been a Dean. I attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia for undergrad where I majored in Drama and minored in Creative Writing. I received my Master’s Degrees in Performance Studies and Educational Theatre both from NYU.  In my spare time I like to play dress up with my daughter & husband, cook, write children's stories, read books, and watch movies. I am the faculty sponsor for the Leadership Club/Student Government Organization and I direct the Spring Musical.  While at McKinley I also started the Cheerleading Team, the Culinary Arts Club and I also used to direct the Annual Talent Show. 

Fun Facts About Me: I was born in Alabama in a small city where my father was the mayor, grew up in Washington DC, went to college in Atlanta and moved to NYC for grad school.  I was married on the Brooklyn Bridge surrounded by family and friends and a New Orleans Brass Band played as we exited the bridge. I wrote a play that was performed off Broadway in the Hip Hop Theatre Festival 2 years in a row and in Washington, D.C. in the Black Theatre Festival.  I love ALL things Muppet.

Ms. Coughlin. I am a Social Studies teacher. In the past I have also taught Math, Science, ELA, Reading, and computers. I went to college at College of the Holy Cross where I majored in History and German. I received my Master’s Degree from New York Institute of Technology in Instructional Technology.  In my spare time I like to travel and support Women’s sports. I am one of the coaches of the after school volleyball team and volleyball clinic.

Ms. Cowan. I am a Special Education teacher.  In the past I have taught Math, Social Studies and English. I went to college at Drew University where I majored in Education. I received my Master's Degree in Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education. I am one of the coaches for the soccer and basketball teams. In my spare time I like to workout.

Anna Marie Crivera. I am a classroom paraprofessional. I attended Empire College. In my spare time I enjoy spending endless time with my family. I also enjoy taking walks and taking pictures of sunsets.

Mr. Crowder. I am a Math Teacher. In the past I have also been a science and a music teacher. I majored in and received my Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education at Brooklyn College. Fun Facts About Me: I taught music for 5 years before coming a teacher professionally. I've played trumpet since the 4th grade and got to work with world renowned trumpet players in college. I'm the oldest of 4 siblings.

Ms. Erin Cullen. I am the Parent Coordinator. I went to college at Iona College in New Rochelle where I majored in Criminal Justice. In my spare time, I love to cook with my family and getting 10K steps a day!

 Fun Facts About Me: I can write with both hands. I ran 3 half marathons. I love sports and used to play basketball, softball, and tennis in high school.

Mrs.  Cummings. I am the school’s Teacher Librarian and in the past I was a Math teacher here for many years. I went to college at Boston University where I majored in Math and Secondary Math Education. I received my first Master’s Degree in Secondary Math Education from the NY Institute of Technology and my second in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University. In my spare time I like to hang out with my family, practice and teach hot yoga, travel, and attempt to train my belligerent parakeet, Guinea Piggy. I am the faculty sponsor for the Library Open Access Hours (before & after school) and the Library Squad (student volunteers mostly at lunch), and I look forward to starting more fun clubs.

Fun Facts About Me:  I've visited at least 46 of the states in our country, and taught public school (math) in 3 of them! I LOVE chocolate. Once, I won a competition by eating 17 chocolate frosted cupcakes (regular size) in 5 minutes.

Ms. Daoki. I am a Math teacher. I attended CUNY where I majored in Math Education.  I received my Master’s Degree in Data Science from the School of Professional Studies. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family.

Fun Facts About Me: In my first year of teaching, most staff thought I was a student. This is the first time I ever tested positive for Covid. I like math and programming. 

Ms. Dawe. I am an English teacher. I went to college at Manhattan College where I majored in Secondary Education-English. I received my Master's Degree from Touro University in Literacy. In my spare time I like to play with my kids. 

Fun Facts About Me: I have taught ELA in Room 215 since 2007. By the time I was 18 I had lived in 6 different states. I went skydiving with Ms. Gillen and Ms. Casil.

Ms. Demchak. I am a Special Education teacher currently teaching 6th grade Science and Social Studies. For the past 11 years I worked as an Elementary Schools Special Education teacher in Kindergarten, 4th, and 5th Grade. I went to Molloy College where I majored in Childhood Education and Special Education with  a  focus on Mathematics. I also received my Masters Degree from Molloy College in Special Education. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and friends.  I enjoy being active and going to the gym, playing beach volleyball, riding my bike and attending basketball games.

Fun Facts About Me: I played basketball for Molloy College and we won two East Coast Conference Championships! I enjoy cooking.

Ms. Demina. I am a Science Teacher. I am also an adjunct lecturer teaching Psychology. I attended the College of Staten Island for all my studies, a Bachelors degree in Psychology and two Masters degrees: Neuroscience and Science Secondary Education. I run the Gardening  Club with Mr. Monahan, the Green Team with Ms. Abrahim and Minecraft with Ms. Hernandez.   I am also the school's Sustainability Coordinator. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family; I collect vintage books and tchotchkes; take care of my plant collection. 

Fun Facts About Me: I was born in the Ukraine and moved to Brooklyn in 1999; I lived in England for a year; I love plants; I have two cats; I am a lifelong learner; My favorite subjects in school were history, art, and of course science!

Ms. DeNatale. I teach Special Education and ELA. In the past I’ve also taught Science. I went to college at Pace University and Brooklyn College where I majored in Business Administration with a concentration in human resources and a minor in marketing. I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education Grades 7-12 from Brooklyn College. In my spare time I like to shop. I am one of the staff sponsors of the Culinary Arts Club. 

Fun Facts About Me: I'm a handy woman. I like to transform furniture, build things and fix things. I've been a licensed cosmetologist for 11 years. My family has a dog rescue and has rescued over 7000 dogs from kill shelters in North Carolina.

Ms.  Desilus-Lacon. I am the Computer/Coding Teacher. In the past I’ve also taught Mathematics, Social Studies, and English Grammar.I went to college at SUNY New Paltz where I majored in Business Administration/Accounting/Management. I received one Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling & Guidance from Howard University, and my second in School Building Administration from  Western Governor’s University. Fun Facts About Me: In front of the tennis courts, on the sidewalk, I inscribed my husband's band name in 1989. It is still there. I sell my photography at art fairs and in galleries. I love anime. 

Ms. Flaherty. I am an ENL (English as a New Language) teacher. Originally from the Midwest, I attended Ohio University where I majored in Journalism/Public Relations before moving to NYC and receiving my Master's Degree from Hunter College in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. In my free time, I like to spend time outdoors with family and friends, see live music, do yoga, read historical fiction books, and make cross stitch/embroidery crafts. I appreciate the city and country equally, and two of my favorite places are Paris, France and the Finger Lakes, NY.

Fun Facts About Me: My first language is English, I learned Spanish in school/studying abroad in Spain, and I'm learning Russian from my husband who's from Ukraine. I love teaching English AND I love it when my students teach me their home languages! 

Ms. Fonseca. I am a Math teacher. In the past I have also taught Science. I went to college at Hunter College where I studied Education. I also went to Hunter for my Master's Degree. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, bake and read books.  I am one of the after school teachers for SHSAT Prep and Math After-School for Newcomers.

Fun Facts About Me: I am a fluent Arabic speaker. I danced Ballet for six years, with my last year dancing "En Pointe.”  I love dolphins! Went swimming with dolphins when I was 23 and got kissed by one!

Ms. Formica. I am a Special Education English Teacher. In the past I have also taught Science. I went to college at Brooklyn College where I majored in Children and Youth Studies. I received my Master's Degree in General and Special Education for grades 5-12 from Relay Graduate School of Education. I am also certified in special education grades K-12.  I am one of the coaches for McKinley's Cheer & Pep Squad and the faculty sponsor for the Photography Club.  In my spare time I like to go to yoga and pilates. 

Fun Facts About Me: I love to travel around the world. I love art, especially photography and capturing photos of scenic views such as sunsets. As a kid my dream job was to be a traveling journalist. As I got older my dream is to own and open up a wellness center for women! 

Ms. Francois. I am a Substance Abuse Prevention Intervention Specialist (S.A.P.I.S) In the past I've also taught Life Skills and I was a Case Manager providing support services to clients living and or affected with HIV/AIDS for over 15 years, in addition to being a Youth Career Advisor for 10 years providing supportive and academic counseling to High School students at risk of dropping out of school, outreach students with chronic absences while addressing their social needs and provided them with internal referral for either immigration services, housing, financial assistance. Assisted students in the program with completing and submitting college applications. Then I worked at New York City Health and Hospitals providing Medical case management to patients assigned to the clinic and addressing their mental health needs advocating for them to receive comprehensive care. My previous positions have always incorporated supportive services, outreach, individual counseling, intake, assessments, field visits including home, hospitals, schools and social services agencies advocating for my clients ensuring they receive utmost services.  

I attended CUNY at City College where I majored in Liberal Arts with a strong concentration in Sociology and Psychology(B.A.) I received my Masters Degree from Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) in the field of ___Community Health Education (M.A) In my spare time, I like to watch comedy, listen to music, dance, shop, road trip, visiting friends, families, and walk in the park. I am an active member of the liturgical ministry at my local parish.

Mr. Froncillo. I have been a Physical Education teacher for 19 years 15 of which have been at Mckinley. I attended Saint Francis college and then Touro college for my masters degree. In college I studied Physical Education. I received my Masters Degree in Special Education. In my spare time I like to exercise and spend time with my family. I coach flag football and do the exercise club at Mckinley.

Ms. Frasca. I am a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist and Speech Teacher. I attended St. Francis College for my undergraduate degree, where I majored in Psychology. I received my Master's Degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University. I provide specialized speech and language intervention services to students with Individualized Education Plans. In my spare time I enjoy reading and planning my next travel adventure.

Ms. Gennaoui. I am the 6th Grade Guidance Counselor. I went to Wagner College where I majored in Psychology. I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Brooklyn College. Ms. Gentile. I am a Math Teacher. I am a 6th grade Math Teacher at McKinley. I've previously worked as a gym teacher in a camp for about 6 years prior to teaching. This is where I began to love the profession of teaching and decided to make it a career. I went to college at St. John's College where I majored in Mathematics. I received my Master's Degree in Special Education from Brooklyn College. In my spare time I like to paint, bake, play softball, workout every night 

Fun Facts About Me: I am a pretty good baker, I like to bake brownies the most. I played softball this year for the first time in 6 years and it was really fun and I missed playing. I enjoy painting and making arts and crafts.

Ms. Georgiadis. I am a Social Studies teacher. In the past I also taught English. I attended St. John's University where I majored in Secondary Education. I received my Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from New York University. In my spare time I like to travel, cook, go to the gym,  hang with friends and family, go to restaurants and the spa. I am one of the teachers for after school U.S. History & Government Regents Prep.

Mr. Gibson. I am a Cinema Studies teacher. I've been a teacher for 15 years. From 2008-2014, I taught Grade 8 ELA, Social Studies, Science, & Health. I also taught 7th Grade Science.  From 2014-2023,  I taught Theater. I went to the College of Staten Island where I majored in Dramatic Arts. I received my Master's Degree from Long Island University in Urban Adolescence and Students With Disabilities.  In my spare time I like to watch movies (or tv shows), draw, sing karaoke, hang out with my family. I am the director of the McKinley Theater Company. 

Fun Facts About Me: I was an extra (background actor) in SPIDER-MAN 3 and AMERICAN GANGSTER.  If you watch the movies, you will not see me.  It was an amazing experience that was an eye-opening view of filmmaking. 

I love Star Wars.  I first got into it in 7th Grade when they reintroduced the special edition of the original 3 films in movie theaters.  I've loved it since. 

I learned in junior high school that I wanted to do theater.  For my 6th grade midterm, my teacher had the class sing a Broadway song on stage in front of the class.  She told me I had to sing when we got back from Winter Break.  I was horrified because I was really shy and didn't like being the center of attention.  So, everyday in December I rehearsed at home by recording myself and critiquing it.  Finally, the big day came.  My teacher called my name.  I felt extremely overwhelmed when I walked onto the stage.  I was shaking and stuttering when I introduced myself.  Then, something amazing happened: when she started playing the piano, it was like an unknown side of me was unlocked and I turned into someone else.  I sang and danced to "If I Were a Rich Man" and when I ended the song, I bowed and RAN off the stage...but my class was cheering so loud for me and my teacher said "What Was That?!" as I barely spoke prior to that day.  That moment changed my life.

Mr. Gordon. I am a Health and Physical Education Teacher. I went to college at Stonybrook University where I majored in Health and Physical Education. I received my Master's Degree from Hofstra University in Health Education. In my spare time I like to spend time with friends and family, work out,  listen to music, read, and watch TV.

Ms.  Green. I am an Occupational Therapist (OT). Some of the other subjects I’ve taught or jobs I’ve had include working with individuals ages 0–99. For nearly 10 years, I have also worked with babies ages 0–3. Additionally, I work summer school for the New York City Public Schools across various boroughs, age groups, and populations. For the past three years, I have supported the Borough of Brooklyn as a Senior Instructional Therapist, working closely with my supervisor to provide workshops, onboard new hires, mentor staff, offer clinical support and guidance, interview NYCPS candidates, complete observations, evaluations, Functional Status Reviews (FSRs), and collaborate with staff, administrators, and principals. I have previously assisted with interviewing incoming Hofstra University OT candidates. As I continue to work at McKinley (January 2026 will mark 9 years), I have begun a new journey this year as the founding OT at a brand-new elementary school in District 20. I went to college at Queens College where I majored in Psychology and Occupational Therapy. I earned my Master’s degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Occupational Therapy. 

In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and badminton, and taking walks or hikes in nature with my husband.

Ms. Deborah Grimley. I am a School Secretary. I majored in Secretarial Credits at Katherine Gibbs College. In my spare time I like to ride my bike and read.

Ms. Grimley. I am a 6th Grade English teacher. I went to college at St. Francis College where I majored in Adolescent Education with a Concentration in English. I received my Master's Degree in Special Education Generalist (7-12) from Brooklyn College. After school I work as a Director's Assistant for the school musicals. In my free time I like to sing, watch Lifetime movies, lounge with my dog, Pepper, spend time with my family and challenge myself with puzzle games such as Sudoku and word games.

Fun Facts About Me: I was once the youngest Head Men's NCAA Basketball coach in the country. I am a New York Mets and Green Bay Packers fan. I played four years of College Basketball. 

Ms. Guerra. I am a Special Education teacher and I also have taught ELA. I went to college at Binghamton University, class of 2009 and I received my Master of Arts in Adolescence English Education, Grade 7-12.at Brooklyn College in 2012 I am a co-advisor for the National Junior Honor Society with Ms. Howell. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family. I especially enjoy hiking and traveling with my husband and our little dog.

Ms. Leger. I am a Social Studies teacher. I attended the College of Staten Island where I majored in History.  I received my Master's Degree in Adolescent Education. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family.

Ms. Lehrer. I am the UFT Teacher Center Site Staff/Coach also responsible for many technology needs.  I started at McKinley in 2001 as a Math Teacher, and piloted the first Virtual Enterprise Junior Venture (VE-JV) class at McKinley in 2015.  I taught and helped write the original VE-JV curriculum, which at the time, was piloted in only 3 middle schools in all of NYC, now offered in 26 NYC middle schools and over 100 programs throughout the country.  

My undergraduate degree is from Long Island University where I majored in finance.  I also have an associate's degree from Kingsborough Community College in accounting.  Originally, I was a banker and became a teacher through the NYC Teaching Fellowship program.  I earned my Master's Degree in Mathematics Education from Brooklyn College.  To give back to my communities, I am a member of my local Community Board in Brooklyn, Sebago Canoe Club Inc., and Kiwanis.  If I have any additional spare time, I like to Kayak, bike, take long walks, and spend time with friends & family.

I am currently the 7th Grade IIM teacher whose focus is science.  I attended New York University where earned my diploma in Anthropology and Hellenic Studies.  Additionally, I received my master's degree in education from Pace University. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Ms. Elva (Xueling) Lu. I am an ENL teacher, and I am also a Bilingual Chinese teacher. I went to college at St. Louis University, double majored in Finance and Accounting.

Fun facts about me: I was chased after a black bear in Grand Teton National Park.  I was born in China and came to the US at the age of 18. I’m fluent in both English and Chinese. I am a great cook and I can make authentic Chinese food.

Ms. Mandy Luk. I am a Paraprofessional. I went to college at New York University where I majored in Dental Hygiene. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my kids, travel, gym, play sports, and hang out with friends.

Ms.  Papadimitropoulos. I am a Special Education English and Social Studies teacher. Before teaching in McKinley, I taught 3rd grade for 5 years. I taught all subjects in elementary school. I went to college at Hunter where I majored in Early Childhood Education and English Language Arts. I went straight into my Masters Degree after graduating Hunter College. I went to Touro College where my focus was Adolescent Education (Grades 5-9) and Students with Disabilities. In my spare time I like to read, watch TV, go shopping, enjoy outdoor activities (hikes/ walks in nature/ parks). These days, as I have two little girls at home (4 yr. old and 1 yr. old), I like to spend my spare time going to the playground, visiting children's museums, and doing fun activities with them. Fun Facts About Me: When I went to school in Kindergarten I didn't know a word of English! Even though I was born in NY, my parents were immigrants from Greece and didn't know much English at the time. They only spoke to my siblings and I in Greek. I was put into an ESL class and then started learning how to read, write, and speak in English. It became my favorite subject and here I am today, teaching English Language Arts at McKinley! 

I am the oldest of 4 siblings. I have three younger brothers, but when you see us all together, I seem the youngest - they are all much taller than me! Growing up we fought a lot and I usually felt left out, being that I was the only girl. Now we are all very close and we spend a lot of time together. We like to have game nights, movie nights, and go out to dinners. 

I love to travel! Seeing the world and making memories with family and friends is something I really enjoy and cherish. One of my most unforgettable trips was a trip to China that I took with a couple of McKinley teachers 10 years ago. We saw the Great Wall of China, Chinese gardens, pandas, silk and jade factories, green tea farms, and Shanghai!

Ms. Parla. I am a Special Education teacher. In the past I have also taught ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I got my Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Linguistics from Hunter College and my Master of Science in Special Education from LIU - Brooklyn. I like to spend my spare time with my friends and family. In the summer, I am generally found outside at the beach or pool reading a good book. 

Fun Facts About Me: I can recite all of the 50 states in both ascending and descending alphabetical order. I love ketchup but not tomatoes. South Florida is a second home to me, having spent my summers with my Tia Ana on Miami Beach.  

Mr. Perez. I am a Special Education Teacher doing 8th Grade Social Studies. I previously worked as a substitute teacher, and an usher at Alpine Cinemas. I went to college at Brooklyn College where I majored in English and got a minor in Creative Writing. I am working on my master's degree at Brooklyn College in the field of Special Education. Ms.  Rohman-Hashem.  I am a STEM Teacher and Lego Robotics Coach. I taught 6-8th Science since 2017. I worked at multiple banks in various positions for about 8 years prior to becoming a teacher.  I went to Brooklyn College where I majored in Biology/Pre-Med. I received my Master of Science Degree from Pace University. Ms. Romero. I am a  7th-grade English Language Arts (ELA) teacher. Previously, I taught 6th grade, covering both social studies and ELA, which has provided me with a well-rounded educational background. I hold a master's degree in Education from Hunter College, where I deepened my understanding of effective teaching practices. During my undergraduate studies at Baruch College, I majored in English and minored in Communications, allowing me to develop strong communication skills alongside my passion for literature.

 In my spare time, I enjoy a variety of activities. I love to read, often immersing myself in different genres, and I enjoy playing on my Nintendo Switch. Additionally, I attend yoga classes regularly to maintain my physical and mental well-being, and I often take walks around the Bay Ridge area. I attended New York University (NYU) where I earned a master's in clinical social work. Ms. Sambone. I am a 7th grade math teacher. I work at Jones Beach State Park over the summer. I work in the revenue department where we count the daily profits brought in by the Park each day. This consists of the parking lots, pools, chair and umbrella rentals, mini golf and more. I went to college at Suny Cortland

Where I majored in Adolescent Education: Mathematics Grades 7-12. I am working on my master's degree at SUNY Oswego in the field of Curriculum and Instruction.  In my spare time, I like to read. I don't have much spare time so I don't read as much as I'd like to. I love watch sports on tv and go to sporting events.  I also like to go to the gym and going on walks with my friends.  I coach U5-U8 soccer at my home town club on Long Island.

Ms. Sarubbi. I am a Keyboard teacher. I went to college at CUNY City College where I majored in Music and minored in Education. I received my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology and my Master's in Educational Administration from the College of St. Rose. Ms. Shabana.  I am an English teacher who was fortunate enough to get transferred to McKinley this year. By far, this year will go down as one of my best years of teaching. I attended college at Queens College where I majored in English Education. I also received my Master's Degree and Educational Leadership degree from Queens College. I like to spend my free time with my kids, shopping, reading novels, going to cafes and restaurants, traveling, and watching trashy reality shows like the Real Housewives franchise or anything similar.

Mr. Silverman. I have been a Math teacher for over 20 years now. I went to college at SUNY New Paltz where I majored in Elementary Education with Mathematics. I received my Master's Degree from the College of Staten Island in Elementary Education with Mathematics. In my spare time I like to go to the movies! 

Fun Facts About Me: My sports teams are the Yankees, Jets, Knicks, and Devils! I love going to Broadway shows. I’ve been to over 100! I’ve been watching WWE since 1991!

Ms. Solano. I am the 8th grade Dean. In the past I have taught Social Studies and Math as well as ELA to all middle school grades. I went to college at Penn State University where I majored in Elementary Education. I received my Master's Degree in General/Special Ed 5-9 from Touro University.  I am the coach for the Cross Country/Track & Field team with Mr. Yentema (one of our Creative Connections partners.) In my spare time I like to run, read, and write. Now that I'm a mommy of two beautiful boys I find a bit harder to get some alone time. But I don't mind because teaching them to be good little humans is my favorite thing to do. Together we love swimming in pools and jumping the waves on the beach. Ms. Tumbarello. I am a Reading & ELA teacher. I went to college at St. John's University where I majored in Psychology and Education.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our pups.

Mr. Urena. I am a Social Studies teacher. In the pas I have also taught science. I went to college at SUNY Cortland where I majored in History and Social Studies Education.  am working on my Master's Degree at the University of Mount Saint Vincent in the field of Special Education. Ms.  Valsamedis. I am a Math teacher. I went to college at St. Joseph's University I majored in Mathematics and Adolescent Education. I am working on my masters degree at Brooklyn College in the field of Teaching Mathematics. In my spare time, I like to read, crochet, bake, and watch good movies or tv shows.

Fun Facts about me: This is my very first year teaching! I love animals! Cats are probably my favorite. I have two of my own. I've lived in the same house in Brooklyn for my entire life!

Ms. Vick. I am a 6th Grade Physical Science & Ecosystem Engineer Research Teacher. I've had 30+ years of high school living environment, earth science, AP environmental science and forensic science. I went to college at SUNY Old Westbury where I majored in Biology (Pre Med.) I received my masters degree from Cambridge College in Education. In my spare time, I like to do community service. Through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, Delta Rho Omega Chapter I lead and chaperone an annual HBCU College Tour for over 40 students and co-chair community initiatives like the Bed-Stuy park clean-up and Wealth F.I.R.S.T. Teen Summit. I serve on the Ivy Rose Foundation board, raising money for scholarships in the arts, and support programs such as the Beautillion Rites of Passage and the Kiwanis 2025 Community Baby Shower.

Fun Facts About Me: I was featured in the 50th Anniversary edition of Golf magazine. I am a weekend boater out of Freeport, Long Island. I am an avid walker who enjoys the simple things.

Ms.  Vittiburga. I am a 8th grade ELA teacher. I went to college at University of Rhode Island. Where I majored in Secondary Education and English Literature. In my spare time, I like to watch Netflix, travel, bake cookies and cuddle with my cats! 

Fun Facts About Me:  I have visited 11 counties. I am an avid Yankees fan. I lived in Italy for 6 months.

Ms.  Wang. I am ENL Teacher. Some of the other subjects I’ve taught are ENL Teacher, Transcreator.   I went to college at Ohio Wesleyan. In college, I majored in Primary Education with minor in psychology. I am working on my Masters Degree at New York University in the field of TESOL and Teaching Mandarin as the World Language. Fun Facts About Me: I have learned computing language C++ to meet the requirement for math in college because I can't do math. I have 3 kinds of pets at home, and they are one cat, one hamster, and guppies. I enjoy the sound of thunder and the heavy rain.

Dr. Williams. I am an Art teacher, and I have also taught Art History, Social Studies, and Reading. I love to learn so I spent a lot of time in school. I earned a PhD and 2 Master's Degrees! In my spare time, I like to read, paint, or watch movies. I sponsor the Chalk Art Competition, and I plan to start an Art Club at McKinley.

Fun Facts: I hiked the Grand Canyon. I published many articles as well as a whole book about medieval Irish crosses. I used to be a college professor.

Ms.  Wong. I am a Social Studies teacher. I have also been an after school STEM teacher. I went to  Brooklyn College where I majored in Secondary  Education-History.  My Master’s Degree will be in the same field. In my spare time I like to make 3D Pokemon cards. I am the sponsor of the Lego Robotics Team.

Fun Facts About Me: I collect and play trading card games and building Lego.

Ms.  Zaba. I am a Mathematics teacher. I went to college at John Jay College where I majored in International and Criminal Justice. I am working on my Master's Degree at Queens College in  Adolescent Math Education Grade 7-12. In my spare time I like to workout.

Ms. Zhang. I am a Math Teacher. In the past I have also taught Science and Statistics. At the University of Buffalo I majored in Mathematics. I received my Master's Degree in Math Education from Hunter College.  In my spare time I like to go jogging and ride bikes.

Fun Facts About Me: I have an educational channel on YouTube. I collect postcards from different countries. I speak Mandarin and Cantonese.

Ms. Zhao.  I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help build a strong math foundation for our students here at McKinley. Teaching math is my passion, and it’s been my goal since I was in third grade! I’ve taught in several places—including outside of New York, one year in Hawaii, and two years in Maryland. Before joining McKinley, I also taught high school math courses such as Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Now, I’m excited to inspire a love of learning in my middle school classroom.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education (Grades 7–12) from Brooklyn College, and later completed my Master’s in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) at Touro College.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family—whether we’re grabbing bubble tea, exploring spots outside of New York, or even traveling abroad.

Ms. Zuckerberg. I am an English teacher. I went to SUNY Albany for college where I majored in journalism. I received my Master's Degree from the College of Staten Island in English Education. I am the faculty sponsor for Newspaper Club, AM Tutorial homework help and Typing Club. In my spare time I like to travel, try new restaurants, read, watch movies, go to Broadway shows and hang out with friends.

Fun Facts About Me:  I have been to 48 out of 50 states! I run a teen travel program throughout the summer! I love Broadway shows!
