Upcoming Events:

Veteran's Day At McKinley

At McKinley we strive to be a community, a family, a union that together help each other, our extended families and our community. School spirit events are a way to show our unity. Studies have shown that students with “school spirit” perform better academically, are more engaged in social and civic matters, and are happier in general than their less-spirited peers. Listed below are “School Spirit Events” we will hold throughout the school year. Please help us in our goal of unity and spirit by encouraging your child to participate in the events.

  • The Hour of Code

We live in a world surrounded by technology. We know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works. However, only a tiny fraction of us are learning how technology works. Fewer than half of all schools teach computer science.

That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (December 4-10). Our Hour of Code is making a statement that McKinley is ready to teach these foundational 21st-century skills. All classes will be given the opportunity to participate in an hour of code (or more!) during this  week!

    See http://hourofcode.com/us for more details.
