National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony: On February 16th, Mr, Monahan spearheaded our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Ceremony. Students, parents, guardians, faculty and staff gathered as approximately 225 students were inducted into the NJHS. The formal ceremony included lighting a candle for character, leadership, scholarship, service, and citizenship. All looked on proudly as students pledged to uphold their dedication and loyalty to the greater good, vowing to be "worthy of a place in the National Junior Honor Society," Congratulations to all of our 7th and 8th grade members - we are proud to have you representing McKinley!

Spelling Bee: Under the direction of our Librarian, Ms. Falco, a grade-wide Spelling Bee was held at the beginning of February. Students studied words and followed the protocols offered by the National Spelling Bee contest. Top students from each class participated in a primary round in which 12 finalists were selected to participate in a school-wide Spelling bee on March 1st. Congratulations to our winners: 1st place - Eva Cheng (class 604), 2nd place: Eva Kochan (class 701) and 3rd place: Kevin Botello (class 706).

Painting Pallet Night: On Tuesday, February 28th, Ms. Levi and her students hosted a Painting Palette evening. Students, parents, guardians, faculty and staff joined together to paint their masterpiece - a night of creation under the stars.
